Summer Fun at Downeast Auto Body

Most people don’t think about a body shop until they find themselves sliding sideways into a guardrail in January.  The truth is, we were nearly as busy in July at Downeast Auto Body as we were in January!  Tourist traffic, distracted drivers, wayward deer, and rain covered roads made for challenging travel conditions.

In between replacing fender liners and painting bumper covers, at Downeast Auto Body we were very busy preparing for the winter months that are not so far away………. 

We recently upgraded our estimating and production software to help us track your vehicle through every stage of the repair process.  When you notify your insurance company that you’ve been in an accident, they upload an assignment to a shared system with collision repair facilities. This assignment has your vehicle, insurance and ownership information attached.  Because we are an approved direct repair facility with most major insurance companies, when you call or stop in for an estimate, we can download your assignment from the system, saving you valuable time.

With efficiency in mind, we expanded our heavy repair operation into an adjacent shop located just across our parking lot.  Vehicles that sustain heavy collision damage require special equipment, like the frame machines you see in the attached photos.  They can tie up a lot of space in a busy shop.  Relocating these resources will allow us to dedicate the necessary space to larger collision repair jobs in one area while freeing up room in our primary repair facility for small and medium sized jobs that move through our shop more quickly.
